My work has focused on distributed systems, reliable delivery, and practical AI adoption. I enjoy taking an uncertain idea, investigating it carefully, and finding a useful way forward.

A few practical

What does “fractional” mean?

A continuing leadership role for an agreed portion of time. We define the priorities, responsibilities, and reserved capacity around your business. You have senior involvement without needing to create a full-time position.

How is leadership different from advisory?

Advisory supports a leader or team that owns execution. Fractional leadership adds active responsibility for the agreed AI roadmap, coordination, and follow-through. The scope makes those responsibilities clear.

Can we start with a single project?

Yes. A scoped R&D engagement is a practical way to investigate one opportunity. You receive findings and a recommendation, with no requirement to continue into a retainer or implementation project.

Do you help with implementation?

Yes. Depending on the work, I can implement selected projects, guide your internal team, or work with a delivery partner. Production delivery and ongoing support are scoped explicitly so ownership and expectations are clear.

How are engagements priced?

Fees reflect the length of the engagement, the capacity reserved, and the working arrangement. Leadership, advisory, and research can sit within one agreed fee, with priorities managed together. A focused project can also have its own scope and fee.

Do you work offsite and onsite?

Yes. I use an offsite rate and an inclusive domestic onsite rate, with travel arrangements agreed before we start. International engagements have separately negotiated fees and arrangements.

Do we need a clear AI strategy already?

You need a business priority and someone who can help move the work forward. We can start by understanding the opportunity, assessing what is already in place, and defining a useful first engagement.
